Established in 1914, Staffordshire University is a government university offering various undergraduate, graduate, professional, and distance learning programs. The university is divided into six academic departments, including computing and digital technologies, creative arts and Engineering, Health and Social Care, Law, policing & forensics, Staffordshire Business School and life sciences, and education.

In the year 1988, the institution changed its name to Staffordshire Polytechnic, and in 1992, it officially became Staffordshire University. The university raises funds to foster a better, safer, and healthier society.

Staffordshire University owns Unitemps, which is the official recruiting agency of the institute. It was formed to help businesses recruit talent from the university. It also provides internship opportunities and short-term shift employment services. Over 90% of the recruiters at the university choose to take their interns on as full-time employees. Additionally, internship services offered by Unitemps are divided into Graduate Internship services and Student Internships. To support the financial needs of students, the university grants several funds and allowances. Some of these funds are the Exceptional Learning Support Fund, the Hardship Fund, and the Student Experience Fund.

Home to many notable alumni who are now leading successful careers, Staffordshire University has produced many exceptional leaders and pioneers. In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Staffordshire University are offering two international scholarships – one to applicants from China, and one to applicants from Malaysia – each to the value of £10,000. This scholarship is open to passport-holding citizens of China and Malaysia applying for a postgraduate taught programme of study at Staffordshire University.

Alumni discount

Staffordshire University alumni who graduated in the past two academic years receive a 25% reduction in their tuition fees. Alumni who graduated over two years ago receive a 10% reduction in their tuition fees. Terms and conditions apply.

An early payment discount of £500 is applicable to students who pay their full fees before or at enrolment

EDEXCEL BTEC or SCOTVEC National Certificate/Diploma at a good standard. an access programme passed at the required QAA-recognised standard for entry to Higher Education. an award of the European Baccalaureate Diploma, with at least 60 percent overall; English at 60 percent.

For admission to our first degrees, you will normally be expected to have passed at least one of the following options:

  • two subjects at Advanced GCE (A Level)

  • one VCE Double Award

  • two, six-unit Advanced VCEs

  • one Advanced GCE (A Level) and one, six-unit Advanced VCE

  • a Scottish Certificate of Education with passes in five separate subjects, of which three are at the Higher grade

  • two subjects at Scottish Advanced Higher

  • an EDEXCEL BTEC or SCOTVEC National Certificate/Diploma at a good standard

  • an access programme passed at the required QAA-recognised standard for entry to Higher Education

  • an award of the European Baccalaureate Diploma, with at least 60 percent overall; English at 60 percent

  • an award of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points; English at four points

  • an award of the Irish Leaving Certificate with a minimum of five Higher passes

  • a Welsh Baccalaureate Diploma.
