SCHOLARSHIPS:
UnderGraduate
Scholarships:
1.Need-Based Scholarships
JHU is
committed in meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need for all admitted
students, regardless of their citizenship. This commitment ensures that financial
barriers do not hinder qualified students from attending.
- Hopkins Scholarships: These institutional
scholarships are awarded based on student's financial need and do not require
repayment. The amount varies, depending on the student's demonstrated need
and can be renewed annually.
- Federal Pell Grant: Available to U.S. citizens
and eligible non-citizens who demonstrate exceptional financial need. For
the academic year 2024-2025, the grant ranges from $657 to $6,195
annually.
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity
Grant (FSEOG): This grant provides additional assistance to
students with significant financial need, prioritizing Pell Grant recipients.
For
Maryland residents, the Howard P.
Rawlings Guaranteed Access Grant offers substantial aid. Eligible
students must complete the FAFSA by March 1 each year to qualify.

Merit

applicants are automatically considered during the admissions processn so no
separate application is required. These scholarships can be combined with

- Hodson Trust Scholarship: It is awarded to approximately 20 incoming first-year students annually, this
prestigious scholarship covers about two-thirds of tuition costs.

- Funding Details: WSE PhD students are fully
funded for the duration of their program while in full-time, resident
status. The stipend minimum is equivalent to 12 months at $37,600.
2. School of Advanced
International Studies (SAIS) Scholarships
- Public Service Fellows – Scholarship Program:
- Eligibility: Open to highly talented
graduate students pursuing the Master of Arts in International Relations
(MAIR) who aspire to a career in public service. Citizens of all
countries are eligible to apply.
- Funding Details: Recipients receive a 100%
tuition scholarship for the first year, renewable for the second year if
they maintain full-time student status and a cumulative GPA of 3.4.
- Public Service Scholars – Scholarship Program:
- Eligibility: Designed for experienced
mid-career professionals pursuing the Master of International Public
Policy (MIPP) with a background in public service.
- Funding Details: Scholars receive a 50%
tuition scholarship.
- Rangel, Payne, and Pickering Fellows:
- Funding Details: JHU SAIS covers the
difference between the sponsored tuition amount and full-time tuition,
health insurance, and other applicable fees (excluding the required
matriculation fee). Starting fall 2023, all new Fellows also receive a
$5,000 stipend ($2,500/year) for educational-related expenses.
3. Dean’s Teaching
Fellowship
- Eligibility: Graduate students in the
Krieger School who propose and design an undergraduate seminar course.
- Funding Details: Fellows receive one
semester of support, including a stipend (currently $11,500), health
insurance, and tuition.
4. Need-Based Relocation
Grant
- Eligibility: Students admitted to PhD
programs at JHU.
- Funding Details: A $1,500 need-based grant
to offset relocation costs.
5. External Fellowships
